“Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.” -Omar Khayyam

I have this quote on my wall above my desk, and I write it in almost every journal I have.  However, I like to change the quote to, "Be present for this moment. This moment is your life.”  We can’t always be happy, but we can always be present.  And being present is directly related to our happiness.

Oftentimes, I find the in between spaces more interesting than the starting or landing places. The process of getting from point A to point B is where the potential exists whether it's a road trip, transitioning from one yoga pose to the next, finishing college, or being with a loved one as they approach death.  There are unexpected experiences and spontaneous moments that only encounter in the space in between. These are the places where we learn and grow. These are periods in our life where memories are created and cherished.  It’s when we live on this frontier that we experience the magic of a lifetime.

When we live in that state of awareness we are automatically connected to the unbroken stream of life, which we call being in flow.  When we are in flow we experience everything that is right in front of us.  It is often in the simple, mundane moments that we extract beauty and inspiration.  The trick is that we have to be present in everything we do.  Being in flow means that we allow ourselves the room for love and adventure, grief and heartbreak, discomfort and fear, success and abundance.
